Buddy robotics
Deploying highly specialized equipment designed for direct classroom engagement and lab environments.
Consult with our Application EngineersAs the primary academic and commercial corridor connecting Kigali with western and southern Rwanda, the Gitarama market (historically centered in the Muhanga District) has emerged as a cornerstone for technological modernization. In alignment with Rwanda’s Vision 2050, local higher education systems, vocational schools, and technical colleges are actively shifting their focus towards drone aerodynamics, embedded software engineering, and robotics automation. This paradigm demands robust, industrial-grade hardware that bridges the gap between basic coding blocks and complex PID flight algorithm controls.
Academic institutions in Gitarama require pedagogical drone packages that can survive rigorous laboratory cycles. Standard consumer electronics fail quickly under continuous classroom use. Our optimized educational models incorporate carbon-fiber reinforced composite structural frames, optical flow stabilization sensors, and open-source APIs (Scratch, Python, and C++). By supplying specialized kits directly to regional distributors and schools, we enable students to experience practical avionics, electronic speed controller (ESC) calibrations, and RF telemetry systems firsthand.
Rwanda has globally distinguished itself as a pioneer in BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) drone deliveries. Introducing students to drone tech in high school and university prepares them for lucrative careers with global drone logistics operations. By cooperating with institutions to match the standards of the Rwanda Civil Aviation Authority (RCAA), our educational units utilize geo-fenced training zones, dual-control modes for teachers, and low-weight configurations to ensure compliance and student safety during flight training operations.
Buddy Robotics is a youth-focused organization dedicated to inspiring the next generation of science and technology leaders. Through engaging, mentor-based programs, we provide young people with opportunities to explore robotics, engineering, and innovation in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Our programs combine hands-on learning with teamwork and problem-solving challenges. Students work together to design, build, and program robots while developing critical thinking, creativity, and technical skills. By participating in our activities, students gain practical experience that prepares them for future studies and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Beyond technical knowledge, Buddy Robotics emphasizes the development of important life skills. Participants build confidence, learn effective communication, and develop leadership abilities while working with mentors, volunteers, and peers. Our goal is to help students grow not only as innovators, but also as responsible and collaborative members of their communities.
Hands-on educational training and collaborative lab experiments with Buddy Robotics
The mission of Buddy Robotics is to inspire young people to become science and technology leaders and innovators. We achieve this by engaging students in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, encourage innovation, and foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
We believe that when young people are given access to meaningful opportunities, mentorship, and collaborative experiences, they can discover their potential and become creators of the future.
Through structural hardware labs and programmable UAV systems, we transform theoretical aerospace math and physics into tangible experiments. Whether understanding Bernoulli's principle or coding basic PID loops, students gain insights that textbooks alone cannot provide.
At Buddy Robotics, we instill the value of Gracious Professionalism™ at every opportunity. We expect, require, and reward conduct—both on and off the field—that reflects the highest standards of professional respect, integrity, and courtesy. Participants learn that success is not only measured by results, but also by how we treat others.
Our mission is to inspire rather than formally educate. Through participation in our programs and events, students naturally develop a remarkable range of creative, technical, and analytical skills. They also build social intelligence through teamwork, communication, and shared problem-solving experiences.
Our programs encourage both cooperation and competition. Teams strive to perform their best while also supporting and collaborating with other teams. This concept of Coopertition® teaches students an important real-world lesson: progress is often achieved when people work together, even while competing.
Buddy Robotics celebrates diversity and inclusion. Our participants reflect the rich diversity of contemporary society, and we believe that innovation thrives when people from different backgrounds come together. Our programs are volunteer-led and volunteer-driven. Dedicated mentors, educators, and community members support students.
Leveraging our advanced aerospace robotics manufacturing facility in China allows us to supply high-reliability, education-focused unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) training hardware at unmatched scale. Unlike standard retail systems, our factory features integrated SMD assembly lines, plastic injection molding units, and computerized calibration facilities for high-precision components.
Our logistics teams organize reliable sea and air shipments directly to key distribution hubs in Rwanda, ensuring efficient transport to local facilities in Gitarama/Muhanga.

In technical institutions, students use our ready-to-fly F121 series to learn drone diagnostics, signal tracking, manual flight calibration, and remote controller signal debugging. Standardizing on F121 series allows schools to replace components easily and develop uniform grading frameworks.
Our Scratch-programmable Whoop mini-drones are ideal for indoor classrooms. Using optical flow positioning, students write code to guide their drones autonomously through obstacle courses, developing practical logic and programming skills.
For engineering departments, we offer customization options for open-source autopilot boards. Students analyze dynamic telemetry logs, design custom sensor enclosures, and experiment with advanced control systems like PID tuning and Kalman filtering.
Using the concept of "Coopertition®", schools in Gitarama can establish district-wide drone sports and programming challenges, utilizing specialized equipment like our impact-resistant Football Drones to test piloting and hardware design.
